Jerry B. Magone, MD, MMM

Jerry B. Magone, MD
Dr. Magone is the president and CEO of Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Consultants of West Chester, Inc., where he has practiced since 1987. He is also the medical staff president and medical director of Southwest Ohio Ambulatory Surgery Center, as well as serving as vice president of the board of directors for that organization.
He previously served as chairman of a hospital surgery department and on a variety of other hospital committees. He has also served on the Quality Improvement Council for AETNA/US Healthcare, and on the board of directors of United Health Care Ohio capitated orthopaedic network.
Dr. Magone received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at The Ohio State University. He earned his master’s degree in medical management (MMM) from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000. He is also certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Pradeep Bekal, MD

Pradeep Bekal, MD
Dr. Bekal currently is in private practice with both Ohio Gastroenterology & Liver Institute and Consultants for Clinical Research. He completed his bachelor’s of medicine and surgery degree at Madras Medical School, India, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, where he was chief resident.
Dr. Bekal also completed fellowships in gastroenterology at The Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center and in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. In addition to general gastroenterology, he specializes in advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and real-time EUS-guided biopsies. Dr. Bekal and his family live in Sycamore Township.

Tom Brown, MD
Dr. Brown completed both his fellowship in neuroradiology and his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Cincinnati. He was an internal medicine intern at The Christ Hospital, and earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Brown is certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and has been a radiologist for Professional Radiology, Inc. (PRI) since 2004.

Sheldon Brownstein, MD, FACC

Sheldon Brownstein, MD
Dr. Brownstein currently practices at Comprehensive Cardiology Consultants, Inc., in Cincinnati, and is the medical director of the electrophysiology lab at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Kentucky. He was previously a clinical assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. After earning his medical degree from the University of Rome School of Medicine, Rome, Italy, Dr. Brownstein went on to an internship in internal medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Darby, Penn., and an internal medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He also earned a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond.
Dr. Brownstein is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Heart Association Council of Clinical Cardiology. He is a member of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society, and the American Society of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati. Dr. Brownstein is a certified acute cardiac life support (ACLS) instructor. He has been published extensively in medical journals and books, and has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Electrophysiology.
Edward Crane, MD

Dr. Crane received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served one year as chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center at the University of South Florida, where he was chief fellow during his final year.
Dr. Crane currently practices with and is medical director of laboratory services at Oncology and Hematology Care, Inc. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He also serves as the president of the Butler County Board for the American Cancer Society.
Mohamed Effat, MD
Medical Director, Cardiology
Mohamed Effat, MD Dr. Effat is the co-director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at University Hospital, Cincinnati, and director of echocardiography at University Pointe. He was previously the director of the cardiac care unit at University Hospital. He is also an associate professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was awarded the Noble Fowler Faculty Teaching Award in 2008.
After earning his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine, Dr. Effat completed residencies in internal medicine at the Medical Foundation of Cairo, Egypt, and the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Sioux Falls. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Harvard Medical School, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Cincinnati. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology, and had practiced at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C., before moving to Cincinnati.
Dr. Effat has conducted numerous clinical and pharmaceutical studies, is an active lecturer and has several publications in medical journals. Dr. Effat lives in Liberty Township, Ohio.
Doug Feeney, MD

Doug Feeney, MD
Dr. Feeney is a member of The Urology Group, which is one of the largest groups of that specialty in the country. He has a special interest in prostate brachytherapy for prostate cancer and kidney stone disease. Dr. Feeney received his medical degree from the University of Chicago, and completed his surgical internship and urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, including a year of research in radiation therapy and prostate cancer. He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology, and is a member of the Americal Urological Association and the American Association of Clinical Urologists.

Matthew Hardin, MD, FAAP
Dr. Hardin’s medical interests include primary care internal medicine, pediatrics, evidence-based medicine and resident and student education. In July 2008, Hardin was recognized by Cincy Magazine as a “Top Doc” in internal medicine and pediatrics and has been on the national “Best Doctors” list since 2004.
A resident of Mason, Ohio, Hardin graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton. He completed his residency at University of Cincinnati and served as chief resident at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Kevin Joseph, MD

Kevin Joseph, MD
Dr. Joseph completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville. He earned bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering, psychology and materials science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Dr. Joseph is an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati Department of Emergency Medicine residency program, and is also medical director for the Vanguard Medical Mid-level Provider Program. Dr. Joseph also serves as the medical director for the Cincinnati Police Department SWAT team and the Crosby Township EMS.

Shashi Kant, MD

Shashi Kant, MD
Dr. Kant is the director of dialysis and extracorporeal services at The University Hospital, Cincinnati. He is also a co-medical director of the Dialysis Clinic, Inc., and director of the organization’s Home Dialysis Program.
After earning his medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, Dr. Kant went on to a medical internship at Detroit General Hospital, followed by a residency in general medicine at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and became a professor of clinical medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Kant earned his master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health.
He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Heart Association’s Kidney Council, and the Renal Physicians Association. Dr. Kant is an active public speaker and has published numerous articles in medical journals and participated in clinical trials and collaborative research studies.
Dr. Kant lives in Cincinnati with his wife and two daughters.
Timothy Kremchek, MD

Timothy Kremchek, MD
Dr. Kremchek currently practices at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati. He is the medical director and chief orthopaedic surgeon for the Cincinnati Reds and its minor league affiliates, as well as medical director and surgeon for the Cincinnati Cyclones professional hockey team, Cincinnati Kings soccer team, and many other sports teams in the tri-state area. He is also a team physician for Wittenberg and Xavier universities, Archbishop Moeller, Roger Bacon, Kings, Mason, Winton Woods, Madeira, Indian Hill, Mount Notre Dame and Cincinnati Christian Hills Academy high schools.
Dr. Kremchek earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his surgical internship and residency at Good Samaritan Hospital. He went on to a residency in orthopaedic surgery with Tufts University in Boston, and was chief resident in orthopaedic surgery at New England Baptist Hospital (Boston). He later completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute (Birmingham, AL). Dr. Kremchek is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a specialization in orthopaedic surgery. He is a member of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Major League Baseball Physician Association, and National Football League 2nd Opinion Medical Panel, among others.

Massoud Leesar, MD
Dr. Leesar serves as the director of cardiac and vascular invasive services, as well as associate chief of cardiology and professor of medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He was previously professor of medicine and the director of the cath lab at the University of Louisville.
He earned his medical degree at Mashad University, Iran, and completed internal medicine residencies at the University of Toronto and Yale University. He then completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Wayne State University, Detroit, and the University of Louisville.
Dr. Leesar is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Cardiology, and the American Board of Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the American Heart Association and American Medical Association. He is the member of the editorial board of the journal Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions. Dr. Leesar is an invited faculty member and a member of scientific committee of the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference and the American College of Cardiology. He is an active lecturer and has published numerous research papers in medical journals.
Syed Quadri, MD

Syed Quadri, MD
Dr Quadri is actively involved in his roles as medical director of the Butler County Sleep Center and of the Fort Hamilton Sleep Disorders Center, as well as his clinical practice with Southwest Ohio Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists.
He received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India. His post-doctoral training includes internal medicine residencies at Gandhi Medical College and Wright State University, Dayton. Upon completion of his residency at Wright State, he served there as chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He also completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in sleep medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
He is certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. His research interests include pharmacological modalities for treatment of central sleep apnea. Dr Quadri is also the president-elect of the Ohio Sleep Society.
